Gang rape of teenage girl in Uttarakhand, police engaged in investigation

A case of gang rape of a teenage girl has come to light in a border village. Police have registered an FIR against the five accused under various sections including POCSO. The girl has also been sent for medical examination. The accused are also said to be minors, whom the police is investigating.

A village resident of Kotwali area told the police in his complaint that his 14-year-old daughter had gone to the Jagran being held in the village temple at around 11.30 pm on October 13, where she found a boy studying with her. During this time his daughter and son were sitting on the culvert and talking.

Alleged that then five boys came there and started abusing her. When he protested, the accused beat him up. After this, the accused forcefully took both of them on a bike, where the accused raped his minor daughter.

While leaving, the accused threatened to kill him if he told anyone about the incident. After the incident his daughter became silent. On enquiry, he informed about the incident.

Kotwal Manohar Singh Dasauni said that an FIR has been registered against the five accused under various sections including POCSO. He said that the accused are also said to be minors, who are being investigated.

The girl has been sent for medical examination. No accused involved in the incident will be spared.

Anil was murdered due to illicit relations

Khatima: In village Jadopur, a young man was taken hostage and murdered due to illicit relations. Police disclosed the incident within 24 hours and arrested the accused uncle and nephew. After presenting them in the court, both have been sent to Haldwani sub jail.

Late Friday night in village Jadopur, Anil Singh (30), son of Jagat Singh, was taken hostage and murdered by a woman and his maternal uncle and nephew from the same village. In this case, on the complaint of deceased's brother Kamaljeet Singh, the police had registered an FIR against the accused uncle-nephew Krishna Singh, Sumit Singh and woman Sundarwati.

After this, on the instructions of SSP Manikant Mishra, a team was formed under the leadership of CO Vimal Rawat and Kotwal Manohar Singh Dasauni for quick disclosure of the incident, in which the help of forensic team was also taken.

Kotwal Dasauni said that immediately after the incident, evidence was collected and leads were taken and within 24 hours of the incident, uncle-nephew Krishna Singh and Sumit Singh, residents of village Jadopur, were arrested. At the behest of the accused, the sticks and rods used in the incident were also recovered.

Old enmity between the deceased and the accused

During interrogation, the accused told that Anil Singh had an illicit relationship with Sundarvati, when he protested against which the accused had beaten Anil Singh in the past also, due to which there was an old enmity between the deceased and the accused.

The accused confessed to taking Anil Singh hostage in the room, tying his hands, stuffing a cloth in his mouth, beating him with sticks and seriously injuring him by burning him with hot rods, due to which Anil died. Kotwal said that the woman's involvement in the incident is being investigated. After presenting the arrested accused in the court, they have been sent to Haldwani sub jail in judicial custody.

The police team includes SSI Vinod Joshi, Majhola outpost in-charge SI Lalit Bisht, Jhankat outpost in-charge SI Ashok Kandpal, SI Kishore Pant, Head Constable Harendra Thapa, Constable Vipin Singh, Tribhuvan Padalia, Kamal Pal, Naveen Kholia, Narendra Singh Bohra, members of the forensic team. SI Satyaprakash Raipa, Constable Naresh Giri were included.
