Ganga Yamuna Expressway: To give a new impetus to the development of Greater Noida and Yamuna City, a 74 km long link expressway has been proposed connecting Ganga Expressway to Yamuna Expressway. Through this Greenfield Link Expressway, the area will get better connectivity and industrial, residential and investment activities will get a big boost. Currently work is going on on the design of this ambitious project.
Through this link expressway, more than 10 residential and industrial sectors of Yamuna City will be directly connected to the expressway network. The special thing is that big projects like the state’s first semiconductor unit, proposed Japanese City, Korean City, Fintech Hub and Film City are to be developed around this corridor. This will provide new opportunities for national and international investment to the region.
Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEDA) will construct this 74.3 km long link expressway. The project is estimated to cost around Rs 1,246 crore. The state government has approved its budget, due to which the construction work is expected to start in the coming time.
The proposed expressway will connect important sectors of Yamuna City like Sector-4, 4A, 5, 5A, 10, 11, 21, 28, 33 and 34. Under the plan, Sector-5A will be developed as Japanese City, Sector-4A as Korean City, Sector-11 as Fintech Hub and Sector-21 as Film City.
Apart from this, Sector-5 is being developed as a major residential area. There are plans to promote electronic manufacturing cluster in Sector-10, semiconductor and medical device park in Sector-28, while other industrial activities are planned in Sector-33 and 34. This is likely to accelerate employment generation and economic activities.
Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YIDA) CEO R.K. According to Singh, this link expressway will give a new identity to the sectors of Yamuna City. Being close to the expressway, there will be rapid settlement here and industrial development will gain momentum. Besides, better and direct connectivity will be ensured to Jewar Airport and big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Agra and Meerut.
