Garlic recipes for winter :Garlic is an integral part of our kitchen. We use it in vegetables, chutney, pickles, etc. Apart from its taste, it is also known for its medicinal properties. Garlic is known as a powerful medicine in Ayurveda and modern medicine. Antibacterial, antifungal, and antioxidant properties are found in it, which are very beneficial for health.

Consumption of garlic is especially beneficial in winter as it helps in protecting the body from many types of diseases during the cold season. Garlic contains an element called Allicin, which strengthens the body's immunity. It also helps in controlling BP. The problem of joint pain and arthritis increases in winter. Garlic has anti-inflammatory properties, which help in reducing this pain.

It is cold season and use of garlic at this time is very beneficial for health. The antibiotic, antifungal and antioxidant properties present in it help in protecting the body from diseases in winter. Today we have come up with some delicious and nutrition-packed garlic dish recipes.

1. Garlic Soup

Material :
Garlic cloves: 8-10
Onion: 1 (finely chopped)
Carrot: 1 (chopped)
Olive oil or ghee: 1 tablespoon
Vegetable stock: 2 cups
Salt and pepper to taste

Method:
Heat oil in a pan and fry garlic cloves and onion.
Add carrots and vegetable stock to it.
Cook it for 10-15 minutes and add salt and pepper.
Serve hot.

2. Garlic Pickle

Material:
Garlic cloves: 250 grams
Mustard oil: 100 ml
Turmeric Powder: 1 tsp
Red chilli powder: 1 tsp
Fennel and fenugreek seeds: 2 tsp (coarsely ground)
Vinegar: 2 tbsp

Method:
Peel the garlic cloves and boil them lightly.
Fry all the spices and mix them with garlic.
Put it in a glass jar and keep it in sunlight for 2-3 days.

3. Garlic Chutney

Material:
Garlic cloves: 10-12
Dry red chilli: 4-5
Cumin: 1 tsp
Tamarind pulp: 1 tablespoon
salt as per taste

Method:
Grind all the ingredients in a mixer.
Heat oil in it and add mustard, cumin and asafoetida.
Serve it with paratha or rice.

4. Garlic Paratha

Material:
Wheat flour: 2 cups
Garlic Paste: 2 tsp
Coriander leaves (chopped): 2 tbsp
Green chilli (chopped): 1-2
Salt and parsley as per taste

Method:
Mix all the ingredients in flour and knead a soft dough.
Roll out the parathas and bake them on the pan.
Serve hot parathas with pickle or chutney.

5. Garlic Dal Tadka

Material:
Moong or Arhar dal: 1 cup
Garlic cloves: 5-6 (chopped)
Ghee: 1 tablespoon
Cumin, asafoetida, and red chili for tempering

Method:
Cook the dal in a pressure cooker.
Fry cumin, asafoetida, red chilli and garlic in ghee and mix it in dal.
Eat it with hot rice or roti.

6. Garlic Halwa

Material:
Garlic cloves (boiled and mashed) – 1/2 cup
Ghee – 3 tbsp
Sugar – 1/4 cup
Milk – 1 cup
Cashew-almonds chopped – 2 tbsp
Saffron – 4-5 threads

Method:
Heat ghee and add garlic paste to it and fry on low flame for 5-7 minutes.
Add milk and sugar in it and cook well.
When the mixture becomes thick, add saffron and dry fruits to it.
Serve halwa hot or cold.
