Team India scattered for 76 runs, questions were raised on dropping Sanju and playing Vaibhav, then Gambhir broke his silence.
IND VS ENG t20: The problems of the Indian team on the England tour are not showing any signs of diminishing. In the third T20 match, Team India, captained by Shreyas Iyer, had to face a crushing defeat by 125 runs. Chasing the target of 202 runs, the Indian team was reduced to just 76 runs. After this defeat, the biggest discussion is about Sanju Samson being dropped from the team. After the match was over, head coach Gautam Gambhir reacted openly to this decision for the first time.

Gambhir said in the press conference that he had a clear and candid conversation with Sanju Samson on this issue. However, he also made it clear that the conversation between the player and the coach will not be made public. Sanju Samson’s performance on this tour was not as expected. He could not even open his account in both the T20 matches against Ireland, while in the first T20 against England he scored only one run. After this, the team management kept him out in the second match and gave a chance to 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi to debut.
Although Vaibhav also could not play big innings in both the matches, Vaibhav returned to the pavilion on the score of 14 runs in his first match and 13 runs in the second match. Meanwhile, Sanju Samson also did not get a place in the Indian team announced for the upcoming T20 series against Zimbabwe, due to which the discussions regarding his future intensified.
Gautam Gambhir said that Sanju has contributed well for the Indian team and the team management is completely clear about him. He also said that a player’s form does not always remain the same and the doors of comeback are not closed. Talking about the consecutive defeats, Gambhir admitted that the team was not successful in adjusting itself to the conditions. According to him, Indian players could not read the conditions properly in both Ireland and England and its impact was clearly visible on the results. Now the fourth T20 match between India and England will be played in Bristol on Thursday. This match is considered very important for the Indian team to remain in the series.
