Gave up roti and rice and adopted dal cheela, MBBS student’s fitness surprised everyone

In today’s time, due to changing lifestyle and unbalanced eating habits, diseases like diabetes are increasing rapidly. For this reason, people are now becoming more cautious about their diet than before and are rethinking traditional food options. One such example is that of 34-year-old Aakriti Goyal, who by making a big change in her diet, not only improved her health but also forced others to think.

Aakriti shared her experience on social media

Aakriti Goyal shared her experience on social media, where she told that she had almost given up eating roti and rice about a decade ago. Aakriti was earlier an engineer, but later she decided to study medicine. She secured All India Rank 1118 in NEET exam and is currently studying MBBS from Hindu Rao Hospital, Delhi.

According to Aakriti, neither roti nor rice has been included in her daily diet for the last ten years. Although she eats them occasionally, flour and rice are not usually kept in her house. For the last two years, she has replaced roti with cheela made from moong dal or other pulses in every meal, which she eats with vegetables. He says that due to this change his digestive power has improved and the body remains energetic throughout the day.

Aakriti does strength training

Along with this, Aakriti also does strength training regularly for about five days a week. She says that her activity and energy is more than that of many 20-year-old students of her MBBS batch. Due to constant exercise and balanced diet, he never felt weak. The biggest reason behind staying away from roti and rice is the history of diabetes in his family. Aakriti says that she herself does not want to become a victim of this disease, hence she is taking precautions in advance.

Aakriti believes that the main reason for the increase in diabetes, high blood pressure and other chronic diseases at a young age in India is carelessness regarding food habits. People ignore their health at the age of 30-40 and face serious problems later.

Benefits of lentil cheela

He has seen many benefits by including lentil cheela in his diet. It does not cause drowsiness after eating, it is easily digested and has more protein and lower glycemic index than wheat and rice, due to which blood sugar does not increase rapidly.

In the end, Aakriti clarifies that she does not advise anyone to give up roti or rice completely. But people who have diabetes or have a history of it in their family, must be cautious about their diet and lifestyle.
