Gemini AI comes in Google Chrome, 8 Indian languages including Hindi

Google has released a major update for its Chrome browser. Now users in India, New Zealand and Canada will be able to use Gemini AI directly in the desktop version of Chrome.

Google Gemini Chrome Integration: If you use Google Chrome, then there is a big news for you. Google has now launched its powerful AI chatbot Gemini AI in the desktop version of Chrome browser for users in India, Canada and New Zealand. With this new update, a sidebar has been added to Chrome from where you can directly use Gemini AI.

This means you can now instantly ask questions about any content on the screen, extract information or understand complex data with ease.

Support in Indian languages

Gemini AI will now also work in Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu and Tamil languages. This means Indian users can now ask questions in their local language and get answers from AI. This will make the experience of browsing and obtaining information more intuitive and interactive.

For desktop users, a new ‘Ask Gemini’ icon will appear in Chrome’s tab bar. As soon as you click on it, the sidebar will open. Users can do things like summarize any open website or tab, understand difficult topics, or create quizzes.

Integration with Google Apps

The specialty of Gemini AI is that it can gather information from multiple open tabs simultaneously. For example, if you’re looking at the prices of phones or flights on different websites, Gemini will read the information from each of those tabs and create a handy list comparing prices and features. This will make shopping and travel planning much easier.

Gemini is not limited to just web pages. It also integrates with Gmail, YouTube, Maps, Calendar, Drive, and Keep. Users can draft emails, get a summary of YouTube videos over time, and even do things like schedule meetings, all while staying in Chrome’s sidebar.

Smart Photo Editing: Nano Banana 2

The ‘Nano Banana 2’ tool is also available in Chrome with Gemini AI. It takes photo editing to a new level. For example, if you’re thinking of buying a new sofa online, you can upload a photo of the room and ask Gemini how the sofa would look there. AI will set it in your photo and show it, making it easier to make the right purchasing decision.

This feature is not limited to desktop only. The iOS version of Chrome is also available in India with Gemini support. iPhone users can access it through the ‘Page Tools’ icon in the address bar.
