Chrome browser inbuilt Gemini: Chrome users in India can now use Google’s AI-powered Gemini Assistant right in the browser. Search engine Google on Wednesday, March 11, announced that it is rolling out Gemini in Chrome in India. The feature was introduced for users in the US about a year ago. New Zealand and Canada are also part of the expanded rollout of Gemini in Chrome. With this, Chrome users will now get Gemini in the side panel from where they can do multitasking.

It helps create summaries of webpages, compare information in different tabs, and complete tasks without leaving the page. Agentic features are available in the browser. Be it Perplexity Comet or OpenAI’s ATLAS browser, all of them provide agentic AI. That means the browser itself does the work for you.

This AI browser assistant is powered by Google’s Gemini 3.1 LLM (Large Language Model) and is currently only available for Mac, Windows, and Chromebook Plus users, as well as the iOS version of Chrome.

According to reports, this feature is being rolled out gradually. First of all it has been brought for desktop users. That means, users using Chrome on Windows and Mac have started getting this feature. In the coming time, it can be extended to more users.
