Is the boss toxic? Gen Z has found clever ways to survive in the office
As soon as you step into the office, you feel that you have reached the set of a reality show and not a job. Where the mood of the boss writes the script, don’t panic. Gen Z has understood this game. Leaving the job is not an option every time, so the new generation has found such ways to survive that even the toxic environment seems a little less poisonous.
These youth use their brain more than debate. Sometimes they create an emotional distance, sometimes they laugh the situation off as a comedy show, and sometimes they make such smart moves that the other person manages to control himself.

Gen Z has adopted a simple formula. It is not necessary to react to everything. If the boss is in “Monday mode” again today, the company policy has changed overnight, or a colleague is behaving strangely without any reason and none of this is under your control, then why hold your head? This generation believes that when the remote is not in your hand, why try to change the channel? It is better to shrug your shoulders, say “let it be”, and focus your energy on the work that is truly within your control. This also avoids unnecessary arguments and keeps the brain’s battery full.

Some Gen Z play chess with their brains. If the client is too demanding and is not ready to agree, then these people add a small “drama twist” while writing the email. Directly adds a fake lawyer to CC. Then what, the person in front of you, who till now was sending mail in ALL CAPS, suddenly comes into cultured mode. The language was soft, the tone sweet, and the response very professional. Meaning, there are ways to win even without fighting. Just a little brain and a little filmy effect is needed.

Some people deliberately tell different things about themselves to different people. If later someone comes and questions those things, then it becomes clear that discussions were taking place behind the back. This method helps in identifying trustworthy and untrustworthy people.

This trick simply means that there should be less people in the office and more Wi-Fi routers. Be present, but turn off the lights of feelings. Not over excited, not sad, not angry. Just keep a little “hmm”, “ok”, “let’s see” energy. Finish your work and logout in peace. The funny thing is that when you stop reacting, the other person’s drama automatically stops.

Many Gen Z people reduce stress by reminding themselves that it’s all like a TV show. Characters change, scenes come and go, and every day is a new episode. From this perspective things seem less personal. Clearly, Gen Z is not just working. Understanding the environment, he is also making a strategy to save himself. These methods may seem strange, but for many youth these have become the way to win their daily battles.
