GenZ Travel Trends: Cleartrip, a Flipkart company and India’s fastest growing online travel platform, today released ‘Cleartrip Unpack’, a review of air travel, stay and vacation planning by Indians in 2025. This year’s highlight was the massive increase in Gen Z tourists and ‘value and affordability’ leading offerings, which captured the attention of millions of Indians.
Uttar Pradesh emerged as the most visited state. Prayagraj and Bareilly were widely preferred for accommodation. Vietnam emerged as an emerging international tourism destination. Delhi and Bangalore are the top destinations for solo travel. Soiskar UPI payments and collaborations with multiple banks led to 6 percent growth in UPI transactions and 8 percent growth in credit card payments. More than 65 per cent of bookings on Cleartrip were made for a wide range of budget and mid-range hotels. 65 percent growth in Gen Z tourists in 2025. He enjoyed visiting various tourist spots this year. Dubai, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok received #GenZApproved the most.

Vietnam was named an emerging international tourism destination in 2025, with a 133 percent increase in tourist arrivals.

The number of tourists visiting Varanasi and Andaman Islands increased by an average of 20 percent. Himachal Pradesh, Jaipur and Agra saw the highest round trip from Delhi. Some tourists book accommodation in Karnataka 361 days in advance. Some tourists booked 350 days in advance for accommodation in Ribandar, Goa. 3 lakh people booked tickets between 3 pm and 4 am. These people traveled in the world’s largest commercial aircraft 353 Airbus-380. The cheapest flight booked on Cleartrip cost Rs 0 (fully redeemed through offers and wallet credits). The cheapest accommodation was Rs.48. These people are now doing case studies.
One tourist spent Rs 2.5 lakh on a Delhi-Guwahati flight, while another tourist spent Rs 4.5 lakh on a Paris-Mumbai flight. The most expensive hotel stay booked this year was in Maldives at Rs 4.41 lakh. We think the expense might be for a forgotten anniversary celebration. This shows the growing habit of sudden or ad hoc travel among the people of India.
