Gerard Piqué Wants to Revolutionize the NBA: 3-on-3 and 10-Point Shots

Basketball, and especially the NBA, is a constantly evolving world, always looking for novelties and innovations. Among the most curious and debated proposals are ideas such as introducing 4- or 5-point shots or shortening the length of quarters – a possibility even Commissioner Adam Silver seems to support.

Despite the desire to make the game more exciting, the league has never made a truly revolutionary choice in terms of rules. Trying to do so, however, is Barcelona’s legendary defender Gerard Piqué – interviewed by The Republic – who, with his bold ideas, has captured worldwide attention.

Why not try changing other sports, like basketball? It’s true that the NBA is interesting, but the rules could also be changed. You could play 3-on-3, add 10-point shots in addition to 2- and 3-point shots. Of course, that’s not all; many things can be changed

As for the 3-on-3there’s no need to overthink it: it’s already a sport played worldwide, with major tournaments like the Big3 in the United States, but making it “official” for the NBA seems a bit much, honestly.

Even crazier is the idea of a 10-point shot: we admit we’re struggling to understand the logic. Despite leaving us puzzled, these proposals are incredibly intriguing. We can’t wait to see what other ideas Piqué has in mind to revolutionize NBA basketball, perhaps replicating the global success he’s already achieved with the Kings League.
