Huge amount was collected in the name of fees
The gang members first used to send pictures of attractive girls and women and ask the victim about his preferences. As soon as a picture was liked, a huge amount was collected in the name of registration fee. Even after this the series of cheating did not end. By calling again, Rs 5,000 to 20,000 were collected in the name of security fee, service charge and GST. The victim was lured into honeytrap by gaining trust through WhatsApp chat and audio calls. The surprising thing is that this entire cyber network was not being operated from any modern office or call center, but from deserted fields and footpaths. On 12 February 2026, during routine patrolling, ASI Rudal Paswan received secret information that some youths were engaged in suspicious activities in Chanwar of Sundarpur and Barith village. As soon as the information was received, the police team reached the spot at around 2:10 pm.
Objectionable material seized
As soon as they saw the police, the youth sitting in different groups started running away through the paths of the fields, but the team laid siege and caught everyone. Photographs, video clips and fake advertising material of several women were found in the smartphones seized during the search. Preliminary investigation has revealed indications of cheating of youth from different states of the country. The police is now busy investigating other gang members and the root of the network by examining the seized mobile phones and digital evidence. Officials say that there is a need to be cautious of such objectionable and illegal offers spreading on social media. Cyber criminals are targeting the youth with the help of greed and false dreams.
