Get rid of long queues for immigration at the airport, passenger's passport and boarding pass will be scanned at the e-gate.

Now passengers will get rid of long queues for immigration at Chennai Airport. Fast-track immigration system has been launched by the airport. This service has been started under the Trusted Traveler Programme. Along with Chennai, this service has also been launched virtually by the Union Home Minister in Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi.

Passport can be scanned at the gate itself

FRRO officials have informed that this service can be used by all registered passengers. Passengers can register upon arrival at Chennai, Trichy, Madurai, and Coimbatore airports.

Passengers can easily scan their passports and boarding passes at the gate for immigration clearance. First of all, the passenger's passport and boarding pass will be scanned at the e-gate. Then after verification, the passengers will go to the next gate and scan their face. The immigration/emigration process of the passenger will be considered complete only after face verification.
