Ghalibaf reached Islamabad with pictures of Minab’s innocent children – emotional and strong message to America
Islamabad. Amidst the increasing tension in West Asia, the atmosphere seems to be changing rapidly before the peace talks to be held in Islamabad between America and Iran. In this diplomatic process, Iran has attracted global attention by taking an emotional and strategic step.
When Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf reached Islamabad, he presented a unique and touching scene to the world. On the empty seats of the plane on which they came, photographs of the children and staff killed in the Minab school attack were placed. This step is being seen as an attempt to put moral pressure on America before peace talks.
Ghalibaf shared the scene on social media platform X, writing, “My partner in this flight, Minab168.” This refers to the attack on a primary school in Minab on 28 February 2026, in which about 165 people were killed and more than 100 were injured.
After reaching Islamabad, Ghalibaf clearly said that Iran is going into the talks with “good intentions”, but it does not trust America. Citing past experiences, he said negotiations with the US have often failed and agreements have been violated.
He warned America that if it really wants to make a concrete agreement while respecting the rights of the Iranian people, then Iran is also ready. But if diplomacy is used to deceive, Iran will respond strongly.
With this emotional message and tough stance, Iran has made it clear that the talks to be held in Islamabad will not only be talks but also a test of trust and strength. The eyes of the world are now fixed on this important meeting, where both the countries face the challenge of striking a balance between peace and conflict.
