Ghazwa-e-Hind conspiracy was being hatched by using Hindu youth as shield, UP ATS made big revelation

Uttar Pradesh Anti Terrorism Squad has busted a dangerous terrorist module in Meerut and surrounding areas, which has direct links with Pakistan. This module had adopted a new and clever method to carry out anti-India activities. The investigation has shockingly revealed that Pakistani handlers had instructed their operatives to recruit Hindu youth and use them as cover to conduct recce of sensitive places.

This module was using Hindu appearance and code name to avoid the eyes of security agencies. During interrogation of the arrested accused Shakib, it came to light that the handlers sitting in Pakistan had linked him to the mission of ‘Ghazwa-e-Hind’.

Work on ‘Ghazwa-e-Hind’ mission

According to a report, the main accused Shakib was in direct contact with Pakistani handlers. The handlers had given him strict instructions that the mission should not remain incomplete under any circumstances. Shakib was told that the network should be expanded carefully so that the security agencies do not get a clue. Shakib lured two Hindu youths named Vikas and Lokesh and included them in the module. They were given code names to hide their identities. Lokesh was called ‘Salim’ and Vikas was called ‘Zahid’.

Hindu identity made a security pass

According to investigators, Shakib used Lokesh to conduct recce of sensitive and religious places where it would have been difficult to visit as a person of a particular community. Being a Hindu, Lokesh was not suspected during security checks. Taking advantage of this, he conducted reconnaissance of many important places. The main objective of the module was to gather information about military bases and major religious places. Pakistani handlers used to share Google location, after which Shakib and his associates used to go there and record the video and send it. In return for this work, he was paid through foreign means.

Dubai connection also in front

The links of this conspiracy are not limited to Pakistan only. The investigation has revealed the role of a person named Aaqib, who was working as a contact between Shakib and Pakistani handlers while sitting in Dubai. Aaqib used to work to radicalize the youth through platforms like Instagram and Telegram. He used to share videos and inflammatory content of weapons like AK-47 so that the seeds of violence could be sown in the minds of the youth. ADG (Law and Order) Amitabhayash said that Shakib was in direct contact with Aaqib based in Dubai. An FIR has also been registered against Aaqib and legal action has been initiated.

Pattern of hybrid terrorism in UP

Investigating agencies believe that this is not an isolated incident. Many such hybrid modules have emerged in Uttar Pradesh in the last few months. In this the accused work by hiding their real identity. Recently, ATS had arrested BDS student Haris Ali, who was spreading the ideology of ISIS and taking instructions from Pakistan through encrypted apps.
