Ghosts season 6 adds Ben Feldman as series regular ahead of 2027 release and holiday specials
Ghosts season 6 will not arrive until 2027, but CBS is planning to keep the momentum going with two special hour-long episodes before the full season returns. These special installments are set around Halloween and Christmas, giving fans new content during the long wait between seasons.
The network’s decision reflects both the show’s ongoing popularity and the need to bridge the gap caused by the extended production timeline. The supernatural comedy continues to be one of CBS’s most consistent performers since its debut in 2021.
Despite the delay, the upcoming holiday episodes are expected to carry major story developments, including continuation of unresolved plot threads from season 5.
Ben Feldman is promoted to the main cast as Kyle becomes a key part of Ghosts
One of the biggest changes for Ghosts season 6 is the promotion of Ben Feldman to a series regular. Feldman, known for his roles in Superstore, Mad Men, Silicon Valley, and Mayfair Witches, originally joined the show as Kyle Rosenblat in season 4.
Kyle is one of the few living characters in Ghosts who, like Samantha, can see and communicate with spirits after a near death experience. His presence has gradually expanded across the series, appearing multiple times after his introduction and becoming more involved in major storylines.
His most significant role so far came in the season 5 finale, where he joined Sam, Jay, and Pete on a trip to London to help save Woodstone Manor. That storyline ended on a cliffhanger involving Pete, whose fate becomes uncertain after being away from the manor for too long.
With Feldman now joining the main cast, Kyle is expected to play a more consistent role in both the comedic and emotional structure of the show moving forward.
Ghosts expands its ensemble while balancing long-running storylines
The core cast of Ghosts remains unchanged, with Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar continuing as the central couple alongside returning ensemble members including Brandon Scott Jones, Danielle Pinnock, Richie Moriarty, Asher Grodman, Sheila Carrasco, Devan Chandler Long, Rebecca Wisocky, and Román Zaragoza.
The show, adapted from the BBC original, has built a reputation for blending episodic comedy with long term character arcs for both the living and the spirits. While earlier seasons explored the idea of ghosts finding closure and moving on, the series has increasingly leaned into character driven storytelling that keeps its ensemble intact.
With Kyle now officially part of the main cast, Ghosts season 6 is set to expand its dynamic between the living world and Woodstone Manor even further. The addition also signals a shift toward deeper integration of human characters into the show’s supernatural core, especially as unresolved cliffhangers from season 5 carry into the 2027 return.
