In fact, AAP MP Raghav Chadha has raised the issue of challenges for gig workers in the Rajya Sabha during the winter session. “Today, gig workers have announced a strike to highlight their grievances. I raised their issues in Parliament earlier this month, and expect responsible dialogue from platforms. I urge the management of Blinkit, Zepto and other companies to immediately intervene, negotiate and find true, humane solutions. India’s progress cannot be built on fear and exploitation. It must be built on respect and justice,” he wrote in the X Post on Tuesday.

AAP MP Raghav Chadha reacted to the gig workers’ strike while talking to PTI. He said, “I stand in solidarity with the striking delivery workers and riders. Their one-day protest represents their genuine demands for social security, fair wages, relief from the pressure of unsafe deliveries, and stable employment. These gig workers are the backbone of billion-dollar companies, and even a small investment and right regulations for their well-being can bring justice and inspiration. They are the unseen wheels that drive Digital India and the startup economy.”
Chadha further added, “Delivery boys should be treated with respect. They are not robots or bonded laborers, but fathers, husbands, brothers and sons. Their mental and physical health needs attention. After spending hours with Blinkit riders, I understood many of their problems and I am documenting them to seek solutions, respect and social security in front of the instant commerce company management. This is a problem that can be solved, for this companies will have to show flexibility.” “I am ready to mediate between companies and gig workers. They should be given dignity and respect at work,” he said.
