Iran-America war: 1500 Italian tourists stranded in Maldives; China raised demand for immediate ceasefire
Maldives statement Iran Gulf War: The ongoing military conflict between Iran, America and Israel in the Middle East has now become a major challenge for global diplomacy. On Tuesday, many leading countries of the international community have expressed serious concern over the deteriorating security situation in the region and attacks on civilians.
Strong condemnation of Maldives and appeal for peace
The Maldivian government has criticized Iran’s sanctions against ‘brotherly countries’ like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain. The attacks carried out have been strongly condemned. Maldives said the attack on civilian areas such as airports and oil facilities was a flagrant violation of international law and the Geneva Conventions.
Additionally, Maldives also expressed sorrow over the attacks carried out by Israel and the US on Iran, especially the attack on a girls’ school, which resulted in more than 100 civilian casualties. Maldives has appealed to all parties for an immediate ceasefire so that this series of violence can be stopped.
1500 Italian tourists stranded
Emphasizing on restoration of peace, Italian Ambassador to India Antonio Bartoli said that the priority of Italy and India is to reduce tension and promote diplomatic dialogue. He revealed that the impact of this war has spread far beyond the battlefield. For example, about 1,500 Italian tourists are stranded in Maldives. Bartoli stressed the need for energy stability, saying he did not want oil prices to exceed $100 per barrel as this could destabilize the global economy.
China’s stance: ‘Sovereignty should be respected’
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has also said that he will keep a close eye on the situation in the Gulf region. He warned that the current tension could also affect the security of countries like Bahrain. Wang Yi clarified that China always advocates respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries.

China has condemned the attacks on civilians and non-military targets and called for an immediate halt to military actions to avoid further escalation of the conflict. The appeal of these major countries of the world makes it clear that this tension in the Middle East is no longer just a regional dispute, but has started directly affecting global tourism, energy markets and international security.
