Anant Ambani’s ‘Global Humanitarian Award’ for wildlife, ‘Vantara’ gets international recognition
Anant Ambani was honored with the ‘Global Humanitarian Award’ at an international awards ceremony held in the US for his remarkable work in the field of wildlife conservation and animal welfare. This honor was given to him for his leadership in the rescue, treatment, rehabilitation and conservation of animals through Vantara. With this achievement, Anant Ambani has also created a special record. He has become the youngest and first Asian person to receive this honour. Earlier this award has been given to Hollywood celebrities and many global leaders including US Presidents John F Kennedy and Bill Clinton.
With this honour, the work of ‘Vantara’ has once again come into limelight in front of the world. Vantara is one of the most unique and largest wildlife conservation projects in the world today. Here, continuous work is done to give new life to injured, sick and distressed animals as well as to save endangered species and return them to a safe environment.
Receiving the award, Anant Ambani said, “This honor inspires me to move forward more strongly on the path of ‘Sarvabhut Hit’ i.e. the well-being of all living beings. Animals teach us balance and sensitivity in life. Through Vantara, our aim is to give respect, care and a better life to every living being. For us, conservation is not a matter of the future, but a responsibility of today.”
The organizer of the event, ‘Global Humane Society’, praised Anant Ambani and Vantara and said that Vantara is not just a rescue center but a unique model combining all three – treatment, care and protection of animals. Vantara has shown how animals can be helped on a large scale and this model has now become an example for the world.
Many big names associated with wildlife conservation were present at this international event, including Dr. John Paul Rodriguez, Matthew James, William Street, Thomas Schmid, Dr. Michael Edkeson and Kathleen Dudzinski.
