GMR Airports shares surge after registering 9% growth in passenger traffic

This came after the infrastructure company that specializes in airport operations in India reported some positive figures regarding the number of passengers handled by it. GMR Airports is one of the few players in the Indian aviation market that serves some important airports. It controls several airports, including Delhi International Airport, which is India's busiest airport.
GMR faces stiff competition from Adani Group's Adani Airport Holdings, which operates Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport or CSMIA in Mumbai, Mangalore Airport in Karnataka and Trivandrum Airport in Kerala, among others. The company reports Talking about traffic, GMR's report showed a growth of 9.2% on an annual basis, including both domestic and international traffic. This took the total movement to 71,598.
Additionally, according to Motilal Oswal, the airport operators have maintained a healthy average of more than 10 million passengers per month since December 2023.
