Goa fire: Both nightclub owners, Luthra brothers, fled to Phuket by IndiGo flight.

The two owners of Birch by Romeo Lane – Luthra brothers Saurabh and Gaurav, the main accused in the massive fire that broke out around midnight on Saturday at a night club in Goa’s capital Panaji, fled from Delhi to Phuket in Thailand on an Indigo flight five hours after the incident. Goa Police has given a statement on this matter. The police are currently investigating his whereabouts and his escape abroad. Further investigation into the case is ongoing and authorities also plan to seek international help.

Police busy in cracking down on the absconding accused

In a statement from Goa Police, it was said that Goa Police is taking action in the investigation of Birch by Romeo Lane fire incident. As soon as the FIR was registered, a police team was immediately sent to Delhi, where raids were conducted at the premises of accused Gaurav Luthra and Saurabh Luthra. Both were not found there, after which a notice under the law was pasted at their residence.

Police said that by the evening of December 7, a Lookout Circular (LOC) had been issued against both of them. When Mumbai Immigration was contacted, it was found that both the accused had left for Phuket on IndiGo flight 6E 1073 at 5.30 am on December 7, while the accident took place around midnight on December 6. From this it becomes clear that both of them tried to avoid investigation.

Bharat Kohli in custody

According to the statement, Goa Police has also contacted the Interpol Division of CBI to arrest both the accused, so that their arrest can be ensured as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the police have taken custody of Bharat Kohli from Delhi and obtained transit remand. He is being brought to Goa for further questioning. The post-mortem (PME) of all the 25 deceased has been completed and the bodies have been handed over to their families.

Ajay Gupta is also a partner in the club

At present Goa Police is present in Delhi. Goa Police is searching for a person named Ajay Gupta. According to sources, along with Saurabh and Gaurav, Ajay Gupta is also a partner in the club in Goa where the fire broke out. Ajay Gupta can be arrested by Goa Police.

According to sources, brothers Saurabh and Gaurav had taken a flight from Delhi Airport, both were in Delhi at the time of the accident. As soon as the fire broke out in the club in Goa, both the brothers planned to escape to Phuket. Both reached Delhi airport and fled.
