Goa Liberation Day: Prime Minister Modi remembered the sacrifice of freedom fighters on Goa Liberation Day

New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday remembered the sacrifices of freedom fighters on Goa Liberation Day and described the day as a decisive chapter in India’s national journey. “Goa Liberation Day reminds us of a defining chapter in our national journey,” the Prime Minister said in a post on ‘X’. We remember the indomitable courage of those who refused to bow before injustice and fought for freedom with courage and conviction.”

“Their sacrifices while working towards the all-round development of Goa continue to inspire us,” he said. The day is celebrated every year on December 19 to commemorate the success of ‘Operation Vijay’ of the armed forces to liberate Goa from Portuguese rule in 1961.
