Kazakhstani dancer Christina, who was performing on the stage at the time of this accident, saw death very closely. He has narrated the story of that horrifying scene, which will send shivers down anyone’s spine. Christina told how a right decision saved her life.
At the time of the accident, around 200 people were present in the club who were enjoying the weekend. According to eyewitnesses, the management had burnt some firecrackers during the belly dance performance. These firecrackers came in contact with dry decorative items like bamboo and grass, due to which sparks arose and then within no time the fire spread throughout the club. The fire spread so fast that people did not even get a chance to recover. Amidst the smoke and darkness, there was a stampede and screaming started.

That one person saved my life
Talking to a media organisation, Christina told that she was giving her second performance on the stage, when suddenly a fire broke out and the music stopped. She was badly scared and her body was trembling. She couldn’t understand what to do and was just crying. Christina was about to run towards her green room in panic, when a crew member stopped her. This was the moment that saved his life as the fire had reached the green room. If she had gone there, she might not have returned alive. When he went home and hugged his daughter, he was sure that he was safe.

Administration’s action and pain of eyewitnesses
The administration has woken up after this tragic accident. Arpora Panchayat has issued a notice to the club on charges of illegal construction and has also ordered its demolition. Eyewitnesses from Karnataka said that the scene inside was very scary. As soon as the lights went off, darkness spread and people started pushing each other and trying to get out. Some explosions were also heard. During this, many people got burnt and started having difficulty in breathing, who later had to be taken to Mapusa and Goa Medical College for treatment.
