Outrage on social media

After Admiral Prakash’s post, many took to social media to criticize the Election Commission. The former Navy chief said the notice was a big mistake. During Admiral Prakash’s 40-year career, he commanded four warships, including the carrier Borne Fighter Squadron, a naval air base and the aircraft carrier INS Viraat. Some even questioned whether the person holding the highest office in the country would now have to reveal his identity.
If the Commission is in doubt, it should send an officer to the residence of the Chief of Naval Staff. However, Admiral Prakash refused to invite any officer to his house.

Awarded with Veer Chakra

Admiral Arun Prakash has been honored with Veer Chakra. During the 1971 war, he was awarded the Vir Chakra while flying with an Indian Air Force fighter squadron in Punjab. During his tenure, several initiatives were initiated in the areas of doctrine, strategy, transformation and foreign maritime cooperation. After retirement, he served two terms as a member of the National Security Advisory Board and president of the National Maritime Foundation.
