Goa Zilla Panchayat Poll Results 2025: Bharatiya Janata Party and MGP alliance have once again hoisted their flag in the political arena of Goa. Rajni arrived on Monday, December 22, after which the PM thanked the people of Goa.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed gratitude to the people of Goa for this spectacular performance. He said that this mandate is the public seal on the politics of good governance and development in the state. This is being seen as a big semi-final before the 2027 assembly elections, in which the ruling party has maintained its strong hold.
BJP captured 30 seats
In these elections, BJP has emerged as the largest party by winning 30 seats in the 50-seat District Panchayat body. Although there has been a slight decrease in seats compared to last time, the majority is still with the NDA. As per the situation till 6.30 pm, Congress has improved its position and captured 9 seats.
Kejriwal’s ‘AAP’ got a seat
Apart from this, Aam Aadmi Party, Goa Forward Party and Revolutionary Goans Party have got one seat each. After the victory in the Goa Panchayat elections, Chief Minister of the state Pramod Sawant has given the credit of this victory to the hard work of the workers and said that the people have chosen development.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi specially thanked the people of Goa while posting on the social media platform X. He wrote that Goa has always stood with good governance and progressive politics. The PM said that the support received by BJP and MGP alliance in the District Panchayat elections will further strengthen our development work.

He also praised the party workers, who did commendable work at the grassroots level, due to which this pleasant result has come. PM Modi assured that his government is fully committed to fulfilling the dreams and aspirations of the people of this magnificent state. This victory shows that the public has faith in the schemes of the Central and State Government.
Voting figures and political equations
According to State Election Commission data, 70.81 percent of the approximately eight lakh voters exercised their franchise in this election. The highest voting percentage of 88.29 percent was recorded in Latambarasam in North Goa. After this, 86.71 percent voting took place in Nagargaon and 86.58 percent voting took place in Pale. These three constituencies are located in North Goa, where huge enthusiasm was seen among the voters. There were a total of 226 candidates in the fray, including 111 from North Goa and 115 from South Goa. Of these, 62 candidates were independent.
Congress also improved the situation
While BJP had tried its luck on 40 seats, Aam Aadmi Party and Congress had fielded candidates on 42 and 36 seats respectively. Goa Forward Party had contested elections on 9 seats. Congress and Goa Forward Party had formed an alliance, the effect of which was visible in the form of slight improvement in the results.

Congress has won 9 seats this time compared to 4 seats last time. At the same time, BJP’s seats have reduced from 33 last time to 30. However, at some centers the counting is still in the final stages, which may result in a difference of one or two seats. This election has brought an important signal for all the parties for 2027.
