Hajj Pilgrimage : Mumbai, Navrastra News Network: Hajj (Hajj) Medical examination and vaccination of the pilgrims going for the 2026 Yatra has been made compulsory, and the medical centers of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation will be used for this purpose. The government of Saudi Arabia has made medical examination mandatory for all pilgrims going for Hajj, and if certain diseases are found, the concerned pilgrims will be declared ‘unfit’.

As about 4000 pilgrims from Mumbai and its suburbs will go for Hajj, the State Hajj Committee and the Municipal Administration have discussed the matter and arrangements have been made for examination of 300 pilgrims each in two hospitals namely Cooper Hospital and Balasahech Thackeray Trauma Care Centre. Pilgrims will be divided into groups of 150 people and the inspection and vaccination process will be carried out, and a trainer has been appointed for each group.

Pilgrims above 65 years of age will be given SIV vaccine

Pilgrims must bring their own medical certificate and latest report for examination which includes blood sugar test, kidney function test, liver function test, X-ray, ECG, pregnancy test for women and sonography if pregnant, additional tests will be done at the municipal centers if there are any errors in the preliminary report.

Regarding vaccination, it was informed that all ‘fit’ pilgrims will be given QMMK vaccine, pilgrims above 65 years of age will be given SIV vaccine, OPV vaccine will not be given, Kovid vaccination certificate is mandatory to be mentioned on health card. The responsibility of filling the health card will remain with the coaches of the Haj committee, and the same information will be recorded on the health portal.

Digital security for Hajj now

Apart from this, Saudi Arabia has introduced another new rule for Hajj pilgrimage. In the last few years, there is a huge crowd for this pilgrimage. Due to this, the Saudi government has launched a new digital card to avoid the growing crowd and prevent illegal infiltration. This card will make the journey of Hajj pilgrims more pleasant. A digital identity will be created for domestic and international pilgrims and a Nusuk Card has been prepared.
