Gold-Silver Price: Gold and silver prices slipped again, silver fell by 2 percent, gold also had a weak start.

Gold-Silver Price Today 26 Feb: Today, Thursday, February 26, a fall in the prices of gold and silver was seen in the commodity market. On MCX, silver weakened by almost 2 percent to Rs 2,62,892 per kg. At the same time, there was a decline of 0.4 percent in gold and its price reached Rs 1,60,516 per 10 grams. In the last session, there was a good rise in both the precious metals, after which investors booked profits, due to which there was pressure in the market today.

Talking about the international market, spot silver declined by 0.6 percent and is trading at $ 88.84 an ounce. In the last session, silver had reached its highest level in three weeks. At the same time, a slight increase was seen in spot gold and it reached $ 5,183.85 an ounce. US gold futures fell 0.5 percent and closed at $ 5,200.50 an ounce.

Impact of geopolitics on gold and silver prices

The situation of geopolitical tension has also affected the market. In the last six sessions, the price of gold had increased by about 6 percent, but today it saw a decline. Despite this, uncertainty surrounding the US military deployment in the Middle East limited declines in the precious metal. Apart from this, investors are also keeping an eye on the talks between Iran and America to be held in Geneva today. The aim of these talks is to resolve the long-running nuclear dispute.

Decline seen in other metals also

Weakness was also seen in other precious metals. Platinum fell 0.5 percent to $2,274.16 an ounce, while palladium declined 1.4 percent to trade at $1,770.05 an ounce. Both metals had reached three-week highs in the previous session.

Today investors are also keeping an eye on the weekly unemployment claims data, which will indicate the monetary policy stance of the US Federal Reserve. In the last session, MCX Gold April futures had closed at Rs 1,61,145 per 10 grams, up 0.74 percent. At the same time, there was a rise of about 3 percent in March futures of silver and it closed at Rs 2,68,316 per kg.
