According to All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewelers Association on Wednesday, the price of gold in Pakistan crossed Pakistani rupee 500,000 per tola for the first time. Within a few hours, gold became costlier by Pakistani rupees 12,700.

Internationally, gold prices rose $127 an ounce to close at $4,840, reflecting rising global demand for the precious metal amid continued economic instability and currency price fluctuations. After this increase, the gold rate per tola in Pakistan became 506,362 Pakistan Rupees, while 10 grams gold price It increased by PKR 10,888 to PKR 444,123. There are 11.664 grams in one tola.

Why did gold suddenly become expensive in Pakistan?

Experts say fluctuations in international prices are affecting local rates, pushing gold to record highs and creating concern among both investors and buyers. Earlier on Tuesday also, gold prices had increased in Pakistan. Yesterday in the local market, the price of gold per tola had increased by Rs 4,300 to Pakistani rupee 493,662.
