Gold recovered from traveler coming from Riyadh, arrested

A person has been arrested for smuggling gold at Indira Gandhi International Airport. It has been told by the officials that the Indian expatriate had come to Delhi from Riyadh from whom gold has been recovered. This incident happened on 22nd November. The accused has been arrested after crossing the green channel.

Officials have informed that the accused migrant had come from Riyadh and about 701 grams of gold has been recovered from him. When his bag was X-rayed, it was said that there was a suspicious object in it. Then when the bag was opened and examined, gold was actually found in it.

The accused has been arrested under the Customs Act, 1962. The accused had brought the gold in wire form from Riyadh. Legal action is being taken against him. The security officers present at the airport are equipped with new technology and immediately arrest the accused. No person is allowed to bring gold from abroad beyond the limit.
