Impact of US Federal Reserve’s decision

The fear of rising inflation due to the rise in oil prices due to the upcoming decisions of the US Federal Reserve and increasing tension in the Middle East has kept investors cautious. The US central bank, the Federal Reserve, kept its benchmark interest rates steady in the range of 3.50%-3.75%. This step was taken to maintain economic balance amid uncertainties like rising inflation, weak labor demand and war in the Middle East.

There was no change in interest rates even in January. However, the Fed has hinted at cutting rates by the end of the year. US Fed Chairman Jerome Powell said that the US-Iran conflict is likely to increase inflation and it is too early to assess its economic impact.
