Sometimes some victories are not just medals, they are the return of unfulfilled dreams. At the age of 63, when most people prefer rest, Sunita Singh of Manjhgawan set a new example with her indomitable courage and unwavering faith. He proved that if courage is high then age never becomes a hindrance.

In the 45th National Master Athletics Championship held in Jabalpur, Sunita Singh brought glory to Chhattisgarh at the national level by winning gold medal in 3000 meter walk race and bronze medal in 100 meter relay race. This achievement is not only a personal success but also a moment of pride for the entire state.

After retiring from the post of exercise teacher in Government Higher Secondary School, Andi, a chapter of his life was definitely completed, but the player within him was still alive. He did not choose the path of comfort, but resolved to make a new beginning. Practicing every morning amidst the cold breeze, fighting body fatigue and determination to continuously improve himself – this became his daily routine.

While working as a coach, a dream started taking shape in his mind – to win a medal on the national stage. Many times health did not support him, many times age created limitations, but his self-confidence left every challenge behind. He proved that no obstacle is permanent in the face of strong will.

When the gold medal in the competition was placed around his neck, that moment was not just a victory, but the result of years of penance. The tears flowing from his eyes were testimony to the countless mornings when he had said to himself, “Don’t stop now.” They were proof of those nights when, despite fatigue, the mind did not give up.

Sunita Singh gave the credit of her historic achievement to the founder of Force Academy Manjhgawan, Dr. Lal Umed Singh, coach Wasim Sir, the entire coaching staff, family and well-wishers. He emotionally said that if he had not received guidance, trust and constant support, this dream would not have been realized.

His words—“Age belongs only to the body, not to dreams”—have become an inspiration for thousands of people today. His achievement is a matter of pride not only for Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi (GPM) district but for the entire Chhattisgarh.

Today Sunita Singh is not just the name of a player or coach, but she is a message – an inspiration that shows that if there is passion in the heart, even at the age of 63, one can fly golden.

This victory is not just a medal but a ray of hope for all those who ever surrender their dreams to age.
