Nikki Glaser will take over as host for the third time – Obnews
Comedian Nikki Glaser will return for the third consecutive year to host the **84th Annual Golden Globes** on **Sunday, January 10, 2027**, which will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ in the US. The announcement was made by CBS, Dick Clark Productions and the Golden Globes Organization on March 11, 2026, ahead of her stellar solo hosting debut in 2025 (the first woman to host alone) and 2026.
Glaser expressed her joy in a statement: “I’m so happy to be hosting the Golden Globes for the third time, not only because it’s the best job I’ve ever had, but also because my sister has three kids and now we’ll be equal in the eyes of our parents and God.” This funny thing immediately went viral.
Golden Globes President Helen Hoehne praised her: “We’re thrilled to welcome Nikki back… Her comedic precision, authenticity, and ability to command a room are unmatched, and we can’t wait to see what she has in store for next year’s show.”
Executive producers Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss praised his performance after 2026, and expressed hopes of winning “three times”. Weiss emphasized her work ethic: “She’s one of the hardest-working people I’ve ever met… That’s a huge compliment, not just for being funny, but for the hard work she put into this role and just being a great person.” In an interview with Variety ahead of 2026, Glaser expressed her desire to join multiple-time hosts like Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey, and Amy Poehler.
The decision further boosted Glaser’s rising profile: her HBO special *Someday You Will Die* won an Emmy, a Grammy, a Golden Globe and a Critics’ Choice Award, as well as a WGA. Upcoming projects include Hulu’s *Good Girl* (premiering April 24, 2026), *Saturday Night Live* hosting debut, a role in Eva Longoria’s Netflix comedy *The Fifth Wheel*, co-writing/producing/starring in a film inspired by Paramount MASH, and producing a Universal romantic comedy with Judd Apatow.
Glaser’s quick wit has livened up the ceremony—her return promises even more memorable roast and energy for Hollywood’s first major awards night in 2027.
