Hospital or den of rats? Rats seen running on oxygen pipeline in ICU, questions raised after video went viral

The presence of rats in sensitive areas like the ortho ward and ICU of the medical college has put the patients and their families in panic.

Patients admitted in the hospital say that rats are not only roaming freely in the ward, but are also visible in the oxygen pipeline, patients’ beds and their surroundings. After the video of this entire matter surfaced, serious questions have been raised on the functioning of the medical college administration.

Questions raised on presence of rats in ICU

According to the information, more than five rats were seen roaming near the oxygen pipeline simultaneously in the ortho ward and ICU of the medical college. Patients say that rats not only keep passing around the pipelines but also above and beside them, due to which there is a danger to life. The terror of rats is not limited to this. The patients admitted in the ward allege that these rats are eating their belongings, clothes and even the test report slips. Many patients said that they are unable to sleep at night due to fear because they are afraid of being bitten by rats.

From bed to table, there was chaos everywhere.

The condition of the ortho ward of the medical college is said to be even more worrying. Here rats are seen roaming fearlessly on the beds, tables and floors of the patients. Patients say that the people who came for treatment are now more worried about how to avoid rats than about the disease. After the video of rat terror surfaced, Gonda Medical College is getting a lot of flak. As soon as the matter gained momentum, the medical college administration came into alert mode. The administration has issued instructions to increase cleanliness in the wards, spraying medicines and installing mousetraps.
