Good news for central employees? DA increase date fixed!
New Delhi. Important times are coming for central employees. The Central Government may soon make an announcement for the government employees who have been waiting for the DA increase for a long time. If we look at the trend of previous years, DA has generally been announced in the last week of March or the first week of April.
Current DA and potential increase
Currently central employees get 58% DA of their basic salary. For example, if the basic salary of an employee is ₹18,000, the current DA is ₹10,440. This time the government is considering an increase of 2%, due to which DA can increase to 60%. This increase has been estimated on the basis of inflation rate and AICPI (All India Consumer Price Index) data.
Expected date of announcement
Based on the experience of previous years, DA has been announced at the time of Holi. For example: In 2025: March 28, In 2024: March 7, In 2023: March 24, In 2022: March 30. This means that in the next few days the government is likely to announce DA increase this year too.
Will I get it in March salary or not?
Although the announcement may be made soon, but even if DA is announced in the next week, its payment will not be included in the salary for March. The process first includes cabinet approval, issuance of notification, departmental calculations and bank updates. Therefore, employees and pensioners are expected to get payment of DA and arrears in the April salary itself.
