Work news! Western Railway is running 200 Puja special trains, rail travel will be easy for these states during the festive season.

Mumbai : Western Railway (WR) has decided to operate 200 special trains keeping in mind the festive season of Diwali and Chhath Puja. Around 40 of these trains will be operated by the Mumbai division, traveling to major destinations such as Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Odisha. This information was shared by Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer, Western Railway, in a press release.

These trains are important for the passengers of North and East India

According to the press release, these special trains are being operated to meet the increasing demand of passengers. The 22 trains of the Mumbai division are especially important for passengers in North and East India. The additional services will be monitored at the divisional and headquarters level, so that all arrangements run smoothly. Coordination will be done by senior officials for the safety and convenience of passengers.

To handle the travel rush during Diwali and Chhath Puja, Western Railways has deployed additional staff at major stations. Special attention is being given to high-traffic stations like Bandra Terminus, Surat, Udhna, Vadodara and Ahmedabad. Additionally, a temporary ban has been imposed on the sale of platform tickets at major stations in the Mumbai division, to control crowding.

Holding area with capacity of 600 passengers has been prepared

A holding area with a capacity of 600 passengers has also been created in the eastern circulation area of ​​Bandra Terminus. A public announcement system has been installed in this area to inform passengers about train schedules. This holding area helps passengers board the train and reduces crowding on the platforms.

Similar holding areas are also available at Udhna and Surat stations. Additional waiting area has been created at Surat station, while licensed helpers have been deployed between Udhna and Surat. Information banners and stands have also been installed to provide timely information to the passengers.

Priority being given to safety during operation of special trains

Safety is being given priority during the operation of special trains. Additional RPF and GRP personnel have been deployed in trains heading towards northern states. CPDS (Crime Prevention and Investigation Team) teams are also patrolling the stations in plain clothes to monitor suspicious activities.

For details and information, Western Railway is giving regular updates to passengers through social media, tweets and newspapers. Passengers have been requested to reach on time to avoid crowding at stations. Medical teams will also be on standby for emergencies, and frequent announcements will be made to manage queues.
