Good news for pensioners in Bihar, government sent money!
Patna. There is good news for the pensioners of Bihar. Nitish Kumar government has released the pension amount for December 2025 to provide financial relief to the beneficiaries of the state under the Social Security Pension Scheme. This time, the increased pension has been deposited directly into the bank accounts of 1 crore 16 lakh 4 thousand 685 pensioners at the rate of Rs 1100 per month.
According to the Social Welfare Department, a total amount of Rs 1289 crore 04 lakh 22 thousand 900 was sent to the accounts of the beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). This not only ensured timely payment, but also eliminated the possibility of middlemen.
This initiative of the government is especially important for the elderly, widows and disabled persons, because the increased pension amount will help in their daily needs, medical treatment and living. The Social Welfare Department said that a total of six social security pension schemes are being operated in the state, the objective of which is to provide regular monthly financial assistance to the needy section and provide them social security.
Departmental officials said that technical improvements have been made in the pension distribution system, so that the amount reaches the right beneficiary on time. Thus, payment through DBT system maintains transparency and the chances of irregularities are significantly reduced.
It is noteworthy that from June 2025, the pension amount to be given to old people, disabled and widowed women was earlier Rs 400 per month, which has now been increased to Rs 1100 per month. This step is expected to provide both financial and mental relief to the needy people of Bihar.
