Good news for Pune residents! Another new station will be constructed on Swargate to Katraj metro line

Metro network is being developed to relieve Pune residents from traffic congestion. At present, Metro is running on Pimpri Chinchwad Municipality to Swargate and Vanaj to Ramwadi routes in Pune city. Importantly, these metro lines are also going to be expanded. This metro line will be constructed between Swargate to Katraj and an important update is coming out regarding the proposed extended metro line.

That is, a new station will be built on this extended metro line. This new station will be constructed in front of the entrance of Bharti University at Balaji Nagar. Therefore, the passengers of this area will benefit from this station.

But due to this new station, question marks have been raised due to the distance between the stations. Meanwhile, the distance between these various stations has been fixed by Maha Metro. We would like to inform you that this extended metro line is 5.65 km long.

The detailed project report of this metro line, of course, three stations namely Market Yard, Padmavati, Katraj were proposed in the DPR. However, on the insistence of the people’s representatives and locals, the station at Balajinagar was fixed.

However, since the distance between Padmavati and Katraj is only 1.9 km, there was a discussion about the difference between the two stations due to the new station at Balajinagar. But now the distance between all these stations has been fixed.

According to this, the first station will be 1.31 km from Swargate to Market Yard, 2.11 km from Market Yard to Padmavati, 1.23 km from Padmavati to Bharti University and 1 km from Bharti University to Katraj.

Hemant Sonawane, executive director of Mahametro, has recently informed that the fares for short and long distances will be planned accordingly. The cost of this metro line is expected to be Rs 2954 crore.

But the newly proposed station is not included in this cost. Now the proposal regarding the cost of this newly proposed station at Balaji Nagar is going to be classified with the state government. If we talk about this metro line, it will be a completely underground metro line.

For this, a geological survey of the land is currently being conducted. After the completion of this metro line, the journey from Swargate to Katraj will be faster and the citizens of this area will benefit greatly from this metro line. Locals are also expressing their belief that this area will be free from traffic congestion after the metro line is opened.
