Good news for ration card holders in UP, new instructions issued

Lucknow. There is a relief news for crores of ration card beneficiaries of Uttar Pradesh. The state government has extended the last date for distribution of free ration for the month of June. Now eligible ration card holders will be able to get their share of food grains till June 15. Earlier the process of ration distribution was to be completed by June 10, but in many districts the distribution could not be completed on time. After this, the government decided to extend the date keeping in mind the convenience of the beneficiaries.

Period extended after demand of districts

It is being told that officials of some districts had informed the government about the problems being faced in ration distribution. At many places, distribution could not be completed within the stipulated time due to large number of beneficiaries and other reasons. After reviewing the situation, the Food and Logistics Department issued instructions to extend the delivery deadline.

Ration shops will open from morning till night

Under the new system, ration will now be available at fair price shops till June 15. For the convenience of the beneficiaries, the distribution time has been kept from 6 am to 9 pm. This will give people more time to take ration as per their convenience and the problem of crowding will also be reduced.

Know how much ration will be given on which card

Under the government scheme, fixed quantity of food grains will be given to different categories of card holders.

Antyodaya Ration Card holders: 35 kg grains per family, including 14 kg wheat and 21 kg rice

Eligible Household Ration Card holders: You will get 2 kg wheat per unit, 3 kg rice per unit,

Portability facility will also continue

The government has also continued the portability facility to ease the process of taking ration. Under this, if needed, beneficiaries can take ration from any other fair price shop apart from their fixed ration shop. This facility is especially helpful for those people who live at another place due to work or other reasons.
