Good news for retired railway employees! Government is giving jobs again, know how much salary will you get? – ..

Indian Railways: Indian Railways has given great news to retired employees. In fact, to overcome the shortage of railway employees, Railways has once again decided to give contract jobs to retired employees below 65 years of age.

Railway Board has started recruitment for 25,000 posts in various sectors. This includes a new formula to temporarily fill the vacancies by redeploying retired railway employees. Under this, retired employees below 65 years of age can apply for jobs ranging from supervisor to track man.

The appointments made by Railways will be for two years, which can be extended later. General Managers of all Zonal Railways have been authorized to appoint these retired employees on the basis of criteria such as medical fitness and performance rating of the last five years.

According to the orders, the applicants should have good grading in the confidential reports of the last five years before retirement and there should not be any case of vigilance and departmental action against them. During this period of employment every employee will be paid a fixed salary equal to his last drawn salary less his basic pension. Moreover, they will not be given any DA-HRA and salary increment during the entire period of employment.

This decision has been taken in view of increasing railway accidents and shortage of staff. At present there are 10,000 vacancies in North Western Railways alone. The objective of this initiative is to reduce the difficulties faced by the Railways due to shortage of staff. The Railway Board claimed that the move to redeploy retired employees was taken in response to the urgent need of employees.
