Good news for the farmers of Bihar! Up to 80% subsidy will be available on agricultural equipment
Patna. An important initiative has been taken for the farmers in Bihar, which will directly benefit both agriculture and the environment. The state government has decided to provide huge subsidy on modern agricultural equipment to promote better management of crop residue. The objective of this scheme is to reduce the problem of stubble burning and to empower the farmers technically.
State Agriculture Minister Ram Kripal Yadav has appealed to the farmers to avoid burning stubble in the fields and adopt its scientific use. He told that burning of stubble not only increases pollution but also affects the fertility of the soil, which affects the future crop.
Big grant will be given on modern machines
Let us tell you that the government is giving subsidy ranging from 40% to 80% on many types of agricultural equipment. This especially includes machines like straw reaper and straw baler, which are considered very useful in stubble management.
General category farmers will be given about 40% assistance on straw reaper, while Scheduled Caste and Tribe category will get more benefit from it. Subsidy up to 75% is being given to general farmers and up to 80% to SC/ST category on straw baler (including rake). Provision for subsidy has also been made on other advanced baler machines according to different categories.
Now extra profit will be made from stubble
With the use of these machines, the crop residue left in the fields will not have to go waste. While the straw reaper cuts the residue and turns it into straw, the straw baler prepares it in the form of bales. With this, farmers can sell it for animal fodder or other uses, which will also increase their income.
Steps towards environmental protection
The smoke emanating from stubble burning is a major cause of air pollution. This scheme of the government is an important effort towards providing a permanent solution to this problem. This will not only reduce pollution, but the quality of the soil will also remain better.
