Good news for the people of UP, free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh!

Lucknow. There is great news in the health sector for the people of Uttar Pradesh. The state government has made a provision of Rs 300 crore in the supplementary budget to ensure free treatment facility up to Rs 5 lakh under the Ayushman Bharat Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana under the social security and welfare programme. This amount will be used to pay the medical claims of those beneficiaries who were not able to register in the scheme.

Additionally, a provision of Rs 1,200 crore has been made in a joint effort of the Central and State Governments for settlement of pending medical claims from empaneled hospitals in the State under the Ayushman Bharat National Health Protection Mission. In this, the central government will bear 60 percent of the total expenditure.

At the same time, the state government has also made a provision of Rs 765.05 crore for the schemes of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM). With this fund, the quality and accessibility of health services in rural areas will be increased, so that affordable and quality treatment can be available in rural areas like cities.

The aim of this initiative is not only to help in the treatment of serious diseases but also to ensure access and equity of healthcare services in the state. Experts believe that this step will reduce the financial burden for poor and deprived families and they will get better health facilities.
