Good news for West UP: 4 big projects awarded in just 35 days

Within just 35 days, this region has been blessed with four big projects, which have not only strengthened the infrastructure but also opened up new avenues of employment and investment. Due to the joint initiative of the Central and State Government, West UP now seems to be among the fastest growing regions of the country.
1. Noida International Airport: The area will get global recognition
On March 28, 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Noida International Airport built in Jewar. It is counted among the largest airports of the country, which is spread over an area of more than 5000 acres. Domestic and cargo flights are likely to start here from June. This project will give a huge boost to trade, tourism and employment.
2.Semiconductor Factory: New direction for technology sector
On 21 February 2026, the foundation stone of North India’s first semiconductor unit was laid in Greater Noida. Big companies like Foxconn and HCL Technologies are participating in this project. This factory, to be built at a cost of about Rs 4000 crore, is a big step towards making India self-reliant in electronics manufacturing.
3. Namo Bharat Train: Travel becomes faster and easier
On 22 February 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off Namo Bharat Train. This train connects Delhi, Ghaziabad and Meerut and covers the distance of 82 kilometers in approximately 55 minutes. This will provide a lot of relief to the daily commuters and will save time.
4. Meerut Metro: Travel inside the city is more convenient.
Metro service has also been started in Meerut city, which extends from Meerut South to Modipuram. 12 stations have been built in this 23 kilometer long corridor. Its special thing is that it shares the same infrastructure with Namo Bharat Train, making the transportation system more effective.

The commencement of all these projects will give new impetus to industry, trade and connectivity in West UP. Huge employment opportunities will be created especially for the youth.
