Good News: Latest notification on 8th Pay Commission, big relief to employees and pensioners

New Delhi, 21 April 2026: A relief news has emerged for lakhs of central employees and pensioners waiting for the 8th Pay Commission. The government has cleared the ongoing confusion regarding the time limit for submitting memorandum and suggestions. According to the latest update, now government employees and pensioners can put forward their suggestions and demands before the Commission till 30th April. In a press release issued on April 20, the Commission made it clear that the process has not stopped yet, which has brought a sigh of relief to thousands of employees.

What was the confusion regarding the deadline?

Actually, for the last few days, there was a lot of confusion among the employees regarding the last date for submission of memorandum. The Commission has clarified that the deadline of April 20 which was under discussion was only for those unions and associations who wanted to be a part of early negotiations in the initial meetings. That deadline for them is now over. But, common government employees, pensioners and other stakeholders can still share their views through the official website. The portal for this will remain open till April 30.

Why is the 8th Pay Commission special?

The Central Government constitutes a Pay Commission every 10 years to review the salary, allowances and pension structure of government employees. Its main objective is to update the salary based on rising inflation and changing work responsibilities. According to the information released by PIB on 28 October 2025, the Cabinet had approved the ‘Terms of Reference’ of this commission. The aim of the government is to make the salaries in government jobs as competitive as the private sector and to boost the morale of the employees.

Don’t let this opportunity slip away

If you are a government employee or pensioner and want to submit any special demand or suggestion related to your salary or pension to the Commission, then these remaining days of April are very valuable for you. You can register your views by visiting the website till 30th April. The Commission will study all these suggestions closely and based on that, recommendations for the new salary structure will be prepared. After this clarification, now the entire process has become transparent and the employees have full opportunity to raise their voice.
