Good news to poor families in UP, government gave a gift
News Desk. The government has taken important steps towards providing relief to poor families in Basti district of UP. Instructions have been given to provide ration cards and cooking gas connections to 19,225 families living below the poverty line in the district.
Identification and survey of households
The district administration is matching the ration card and Aadhaar card issued in the name of the head of the family. It is also being seen which families are still forced to cook food with wood or other traditional fuels. In the last seven days, investigation of 7,873 families has been completed. During investigation, it was found that many families had already got gas connections under the Ujjwala scheme.
Will be linked to government schemes
The living conditions of these families will be improved by connecting them with ration cards and cooking gas connections as well as schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Gas Yojana, old age pension, disabled pension and destitute pension.
Action for eligible families
Let us tell you that under this survey, it is being kept in mind that the gas connection has not been issued in the name of the head of the family and they are using solid fuel for cooking. Food grains and gas cylinders will be provided to the families found eligible. District Supply Officer Vimal Shukla said that the main objective of this initiative is to connect poor families with the mainstream and improve their quality of life.
