Today on this afternoon of January 2, 2026, when the news came that MTV has officially ended its journey, it felt as if an old book of childhood was closed.

That journey from beginning to end
When MTV started in America in 1981 with “Video Killed the Radio Star”, it gave the whole world a new way of watching and living music. This channel played a big role in establishing Indipop in India. We got songs of singers like Alisha Chinoy, Shaan, and Lucky Ali here.
