Google has officially launched a dedicated Google Finance app for Androidbringing the company’s redesigned AI-powered finance experience to mobile devices. The app, now available on Google Play Store, offers users watchlists, real-time market data, financial news, AI research toolsand AI-generated “key moments” that explain why stocks moved without requiring users to piece news together themselves.

Google is introducing a completely redesigned portfolio experience rolling out globally this week. Existing Google Finance portfolios will be migrated automaticallybut creating new portfolios is now much easier. Users can:

  • Upload CSV or PDF files of their holdings

  • Import screenshots of their investments

  • Describe investments in plain language for AI to build a portfolio from scratch

AI-Powered Portfolio Insights

Once portfolios are set up, users can use the AI research tool to analyze their investments with natural language questions like:

  • “Which sector am I underweight in right now?”

  • “What impact does bond asset allocation have on long-term growth potential?”

The AI provides detailed answers and personalized recommendations based on portfolio composition.

Automated Market Research Briefings

Google is introducing a new way to automate market research through recurring AI-powered briefings. Users can specify exactly what they want to track, and these automated briefings pull in information from personal watchlists or portfolios, making summaries highly relevant to individual investments. Briefings are delivered via notifications in the Google app or directly in the web.
