- Google’s decision increased the anxiety of employees
Google Layoffs Update: Private sector workers often live in fear of losing their jobs at any time. News of massive cutbacks surfaced frequently. Various methods are used for this. One such news is coming from a globally renowned tech company. Google has offered exit packages to some of its employees, allowing them to leave the company as they wish.
According to a report by Business Insider, Google’s Chief Business Officer Philipp Schindler shared this information with employees via email. The email said that employees in some teams working under the company’s Global Business Organization (GBO) may exit with a severance package.

This potential exit will particularly impact GBO-related roles in the United States, including the solution team, sales, corporate development and other related departments. However, the program does not include employees associated with large consumer sales teams in the US.
Philipp Schindler praised the employees’ performance in 2025 and said that the company is starting the year on a strong footing thanks to these efforts. However, he also explained that the environment is changing faster and faster. Therefore, the company is offering voluntary exit packages to employees who cannot adapt to this pace as well as to employees who seek new opportunities outside Google. Earlier, CEO Sundar Pichai had offered voluntary exit packages to employees in 2025.

Citing financial uncertainty and technological changes, Google has signaled massive layoffs. There is an atmosphere of fear among the employees as there is a direct threat of future job loss if the offer of “voluntary leave” is not accepted. The move marks a new and worrying chapter in the tech industry’s ongoing “layoff culture.”
