Build AI agents in minutes with Gemini 3 – Obnews

Google has launched Workspace Studio, a no-code platform that lets business users create, manage, and share AI agents to automate workflows directly inside Google Workspace apps. It was talked about at I/O 2024 and announced in April 2025. The tool will gradually roll out to eligible Workspace editions (Business, Enterprise, Education) starting December 3, 2025, and will be available to all end-users starting January 5, 2026. Gemini 3—Google’s most advanced model that specializes in reasoning, multimodality, and agentic tasks—simplifies automation, closing the “automation gap” for non-technical teams.

Simple “if this, then that” automation
Skipping cumbersome scripts, Workspace Studio uses natural language prompts to create agents in minutes—no coding required. Specify a task like “Sort out questionable emails and extract action items,” and Gemini 3 will create flexible agents that understand context, reason dynamically, and take action across Gmail, Chat, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Meet, and Calendar. It also integrates with third-party apps like Asana, Jira, Mailchimp, and Salesforce for seamless cross-tool workflows.

Agents handle repetitive tasks—like organizing inboxes, scheduling, follow-up, creating reports, or legal sorting—freeing up teams to do more important work. Early testers like Kärcher reduced product-planning time by 90% by using interconnected agents for brainstorming, feasibility checks, and UX validation. Alpha users have automated over 20M+ tasks in 30 days, from reminders to travel approvals.

Easy integration and collaboration
At the top right of Workspace Web Apps, a double-arrow shortcut appears next to the Gemini button, which opens the tabs: Discover (templates for common situations), My Agents (custom creations), and Activity (task log). Share agents as Docs for teams, with access controls based on Workspace permissions. This can be enabled/disabled through the admin console, and there are also promotional higher limits for experimentation.

Gemini 3: The thinking mind
Gemini 3 Pro outperforms previous models in benchmarks (e.g., 76.2% on SWE-bench for Coding Agent), and a “Deep Think” mode for complex queries is also coming soon. It combines multimodality (text, images, code) with the use of tools for adaptive, secure automation that personalizes responses and enforce policies.

Limits and future roadmap
While this is a game-changer, features like the Public Agent Marketplace and better external sharing (e.g., cross-domain email) will arrive in 2026. Organizations will need to prioritize governance, third-party DLP, and cost – although privacy commitments will remain firm. Product Director Farhaz Karmali’s vision is that it will eliminate difficult tasks: “Assign tasks to agents who reason and understand the context.”

In this AI race, Workspace Studio positions Google as the enterprise automation leader – practical, integrated, and ready to redefine collaboration.
