Jewelery worth Rs 1.8 crore stolen from temple for girlfriend, learned theft from YouTube-Google; This is how it was revealed
Bihar News: A case of theft of jewelery worth Rs 1.08 crore has come to light from the famous Thawe Bhavani temple of Gopalganj. According to police investigation, the mastermind of this high-profile theft is the same youth who was detained as a suspect six days before the incident, but was released due to lack of evidence.

In fact, during suspicious activities in the temple premises on the night of 10th and 11th December, the police had noticed a young man. He was roaming around the temple again and again and looking carefully in every direction. On suspicion, the police took him to the police station and he was interrogated for about five hours. During interrogation, the young man declared himself innocent and said that he had come to meet his girlfriend. He answered so clearly that the police had no solid ground to stop him.
Turned out to be the mastermind of the theft
During interrogation, the young man also got his father to talk to him on the phone. After his father’s intervention and local pressure, the police released him in a government vehicle to the railway station. Later this young man turned out to be the mastermind of the temple jewelery theft case.
This is the identity of the accused
According to the police, the accused has been identified as Deepak Rai, a resident of Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh. Deepak is a vicious thief and has been jailed in many theft cases before. During interrogation, he admitted that he had planned this incident in advance.
This is how the crime was committed
Investigation has revealed that Deepak not only did Reiki, but also used digital platforms extensively. He watched 10 to 12 YouTube videos related to Thawe Temple between December 9 and 13, which included drone footage, reels of devotees and camera positions. Apart from this, information about roads, walls and buildings under construction was collected from the temple website and Google Map.
CCTV surfaced
The search history of the accused’s mobile and CCTV footage gave strong evidence to the police. After an anonymous phone call, the police reached Ghazipur and finally Deepak was arrested from the Bihar-UP border on the night of 22 December. The accused has also been confirmed in the fingerprint test. At present, the police is trying to find out who else was involved with him in this theft.
