Gorakhpur: Dunfer havoc in Belghat: Villagers’ anger erupted after the death of 25 year old youth, jam for several hours

A horrific road accident on Friday night in Belghat police station area of Gorakhpur district shocked the entire area. 25-year-old Rajesh, son of Lahuri, resident of Nargada village, died tragically after being hit by a speeding dumper. The accident happened around 8 pm on Friday night when Rajesh was going on his bike for some important work. Meanwhile, a speeding dumper hit him hard. The collision was so severe that Rajesh got seriously injured and fell on the road and died on the spot. After the accident, there was chaos among the people present at the spot.
Villagers got angry after the incident, jammed by keeping dead body on the road
As soon as information about the incident was received, hundreds of villagers from Nargada and surrounding villages reached the spot. Angered by the death of the young man, people kept the dead body on the road and completely blocked the road. Within no time, long queues of vehicles formed on both sides of the road and traffic came to a complete standstill. The villagers alleged that the dumpers associated with mining in the area constantly move at high speed and carelessly, due to which accidents are happening every day. The angry villagers demanded immediate arrest of the driver, compensation to the family of the deceased and strict action against unruly drivers in the area.
Administration reached the spot, officers engaged in explaining
As soon as information about the accident was received, police teams from Belghat and Sikriganj police stations reached the spot. Seeing the situation, Khajni SDM Rajesh Pratap Singh and Area Officer Dipanshi Rathore also reached the spot and started controlling the situation. The officials tried to pacify the villagers by talking to them and assured all possible help to the victim’s family and strict action against the culprits. However, the anger of the villagers continued for a long time and the traffic jam continued till late night.
The police have taken possession of the body and started the process of sending it for post-mortem. Also, the search for the dumper and its driver has been intensified. After the incident, there is an atmosphere of mourning and anger in the entire area. Villagers say that the high speed and overloading of mining trucks in the area has been a threat for a long time. People say that if the administration does not take strict action on this, such accidents will continue to happen in future also.
