‘Got bullets for asking for bread’ India exposed Pakistan in UNHRC, gave blunt reply on Kashmir

Once again India has badly exposed Pakistan on the international stage. During the session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), India has strongly criticized Pakistan over the continuously deteriorating situation in Pakistan’s illegally occupied Kashmir (PoK) and the brutal killings of civilians protesting peacefully there.

Expressing deep concern and displeasure over the current extremely poor situation in PoK, India clearly stated before the Human Rights Council that the innocent people demanding their rightful bread in Pakistan occupied Kashmir have faced the bullets and extremely inhuman barbarity of the Pakistani government. India specifically referred to the recent bloody clashes in Rawalkot and the brutal killings of protesters, alleging that every voice demanding basic human rights there is being brutally suppressed by the army.

The brutality of Pakistani army in PoK echoed in UN.

Speaking at this important session of UNHRC, India’s First Secretary at the United Nations, Anupama Singh, drew the attention of the whole world towards the situation in PoK which is worsening day by day. He made serious allegations of large-scale repression and blatant violation of human rights by the Pakistani administration.

Making a strong reference to the massive unrest and violence in PoK, Indian diplomat Anupama Singh said that the terrible tragedy currently going on in the city of Rawalakot, where hundreds of innocent people have been killed and the brutal action being taken in Pakistan’s illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, is nothing but a direct result of a cruel system created through forced illegal occupation and repression.

Bloody repression by Pakistani army in Rawalakot

This very sharp and important comment of the Indian diplomat has come amid reports of a violent security operation conducted by Pakistani security forces on June 14 in Rawalakot. According to the claims of ‘Joint Awami Action Committee’ (JAAC), an organization that has been running a continuous movement against the oppression of the Pakistan government and arbitrary taxes and flour shortage in PoK, Pakistani security forces had opened indiscriminate fire without any warning directly on the common protesters protesting peacefully on the grounds of Idgah. Many local people were killed and dozens were seriously injured in this extremely cowardly military action.

India’s blunt message to Pakistan on Jammu and Kashmir

From this global platform, Anupama Singh gave a very strong and blunt message, taking Pakistan to task for its nefarious activities. He clarified that the ground reality and history of this entire region can never be changed by Pakistan’s repeated false mention of Jammu and Kashmir on international forums.

Reiterating India’s stand in front of the whole world, he said that the entire Jammu and Kashmir was, is and will always be an integral and inseparable part of India. The only unresolved issue in this matter is Pakistan’s illegal occupation of Indian territories (PoK) and our demand is that Pakistan should immediately vacate this area.

India also gave a good hearing to OIC

During this discussion, the Indian diplomat also fiercely targeted the ‘Organization of Islamic Cooperation’ (OIC) for unthinkingly supporting Pakistan on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir and commenting against India. Anupama Singh said in a sharp tone that we completely reject all kinds of absurd things made by OIC about Jammu and Kashmir.

He further said that all this false propaganda being spread by Pakistan is actually a very unsuccessful attempt to hide from the eyes of the world its terrible economic and political failures on its own domestic front and the open support given to terrorism from its soil. This misuse by Pakistan of its role as OIC coordinator further strengthens this international deception and fraud, which India will never tolerate.
